What are flatlay pictures?

What is flat lay picture?

Flat lay picture is a normal picture, but you're shooting items from directly above. Those items in that picture are usually styled or arranged.  These days when people are baking or cooking they usually takes a flat lay picture of the outcome. And they put some flowers or some decorations in to the photo too to make it look even more good. I tried to take these photos and here are my results.

A little bit too yellow the light in the background and a little bit messy.

How to make it look good photo

I have a few tips for you to make the photo look good. Check that you have a good lighting, if possible what colder light the better. As a interior designing student, i had some of my own projects in the photos and added  magazines, candles and some color  maps, so it got a little more look. Make sure that the colors fits together, otherwise it will look too messy. And don't put too much items in to the picture so it doesn't look too full. 

I thought that the black background and the yellow fits together nicely.
